Are you running the same ecdl/ecdl-mmx.exe file from the same directory
twice? If yes then both programs are starting from the same starting point
and checking the same space. You can either create a second directory and
run the second instance from there (don't copy the saved.state file over) or
you can get the NT port that Brian Gladman and I worked on which will
automatically detect multiple processors and run the client using all the
processors and handle the saved states properly.
You can download this version at:
http://pauillac.inria.fr/~harley/ecdl7/ports/Gladman/
We hope to release a faster and bug fixed version tomorrow (Wed. Jan 5th) so
you might want to wait until then. If you are interested in using it right
away let me know and I will send you the latest build.
Regards,
Jeff.

Subject: Running NT on multiple processors
I'm running two instances of the program on my NT box. I noticed that I'm
getting duplicate distinguished points in the dist.points file. For
example:
Distinguished point found at: Tue Jan 04 02:34:31 2000
ECC-L0|Cygwin32|1.1.0 MMX|
ECC-L1|28B9D35D723CF6E6455A53932CB|AAF6BA098FA5195D8EBAD3003B6|
ECC-L2|jjirak0@georgetowncollege.edu|
ECC-L3|0000061B2663|
ECC-L4|nick2|
Distinguished point found at: Tue Jan 04 02:42:34 2000
ECC-L0|Cygwin32|1.1.0 MMX|
ECC-L1|28B9D35D723CF6E6455A53932CB|AAF6BA098FA5195D8EBAD3003B6|
ECC-L2|jjirak0@georgetowncollege.edu|
ECC-L3|0000061B2663|
ECC-L4|nick2|
Does this duplication of results mean running on multiple processors is
pointless?
(I'm running two instances of the program since one uses only one
processor.)
