The files "ecdl-ev4","ecdl-ev5" and "ecdl-ev6" are binary executables for Alpha EV4, EV5 and EV6 chips running Tru64 Unix, Digital Unix or OSF. They were compiled with "-O5 -non_shared -tune ev[456]" using Compaq's cc 5.7 and 6.0. They are quite big at 256 K but there are compressed 95 K versions in "ecdl-ev4.gz","ecdl-ev5.gz" and "ecdl-ev6.gz". For Alpha Linux use the gcc-compiled binary in binaries/Linux/Alpha/. Download, gunzip if necessary, do "chmod u+x ecdl" and run with arguments like this: ecdl { } : Either test, mail, alt or batch. : Something to identify you by e.g., your email address. : Name of the team you are on e.g., one you just made up! : The machine name. : The machine hardware type e.g, '500 MHz Alpha EV56'. : The OS name e.g., 'Digital Unix'. : Optional extra text. Please see sections 3 and 4 of the readMe in source/64-bit/ for more detailed info. Rob.
