Under this directory are the Debian i386 packages of Geneweb. The i386 .deb files are in dists/stable/geneweb/binary-i386/geneweb (If you use Debian and Geneweb on other architectures, please contact me) This directory is "apt-getable". Add the following entry to your /etc/apt/sources.list file : ---------------------------cut here----------------------------------- # Geneweb # # Sources deb-src ftp://ftp.inria.fr/INRIA/Projects/cristal/geneweb/Linux/DEBIAN/ stable geneweb # Binaries deb ftp://ftp.inria.fr/INRIA/Projects/cristal/geneweb/Linux/DEBIAN/ stable geneweb ---------------------------cut here----------------------------------- Then, as 4.07 release of Geneweb, I stopped maintaining an unofficial potato package. Woody, aka Debian 3.0, was released July 19th 2002 and all potato users are strongly encouraged to upgrade. The woody version you find here is an unofficial backport of the Debian "unstable/testing" package I maintain for the official Debian distribution (next release has codename "sarge"). Due to Debian strict policy about upgrades, Geneweb will stay on version 4.06 in the official stable distribution. If you run Debian woody, please either stick up with the official package oruse the package you find here if you want to have the latest release of Geneweb. If you run Debian testing (sarge) or unstable (sid), you'd better use the official package in the official distribution. OK, got it? You will find here only unofficial "woody" packages. One for geneweb and one for gwtp. No more potato packages. The source files are also available in these directories. You are required to install the ocaml-baset-compilers Debian package for compiling these sources (NOT for installing the DEB package). It is part of the general Debian distribution. Otherwise, Ocaml is available at http://caml.inria.fr/ocaml/ Also remember : Geneweb Home Page : http://cristal.inria.fr/~ddr/GeneWeb/ Geneweb author : Daniel de Rauglaudre Enjoy! -- Christian Perrier Official Geneweb Debian package maintainer
