Under this directory are the Debian packages of Geneweb. The i386 .deb files are in dists/(stable|frozen|unstable)/geneweb/binary-i386/geneweb This directory is "apt-getable". Add the following entry to your /etc/apt/sources.list file : ---------------------------cut here----------------------------------- # Geneweb # # Sources deb-src ftp://ftp.inria.fr/INRIA/Projects/cristal/geneweb/Linux/DEBIAN/ stable geneweb # Binaries deb ftp://ftp.inria.fr/INRIA/Projects/cristal/geneweb/Linux/DEBIAN/ stable geneweb ---------------------------cut here----------------------------------- (of course, replace "stable" by either frozen or unstable, depending on which Debian release you are currently using) At this time, only a package for the slink release of Debian (aka Debian 2.1) is available. But, as far as I know, this package may be installed on potato (Debian 2.2) or even woody. A mailing-list is available for announcement/work/bugs around the Debian package of Geneweb. You may subscribe by sending a mail to sympa@kheops.frmug.org with "subscribe geneweb-debian" in the mail body. Please use it *only* for topics related to the Debian package of Geneweb, not for Geneweb general use. The source files are also available in these directories. You are required to install the ocaml Debian package for compiling these sources (NOT for installing the DEB package). It is part of the general Debian distribution. You are also required to install the ocamlp4 preprocessor. No DEB package are available at this time, so you will have to either compile the source, or install the RPM package by using "alien" (a Debian package allowing the use of RPM packages). Ocaml is available at http://caml.inria.fr/ocaml/ Ocamlp4 is available at http://caml.inria.fr/camlp4/ Also remember : Geneweb Home Page : http://cristal.inria.fr/~ddr/GeneWeb/ Geneweb author : Daniel de Rauglaudre Enjoy! -- Christian Perrier Geneweb Debian package maintainer
