  To the people who missed the deadline and are still trying to submit: if you send us your entries, and if there are not too many of them, we will evaluate them with the others, but out-of-competition (i.e. you cannot win a prize, even if you're the best). Contact us if this is your case. In the Web industry, time-to-market is everything. We'll be accepting such entries until our scripts are ready and we start running the programs, which is likely to be Friday afternoon. Please stop working on this problem now, the contest is over.

  The deadline is past, the contest is over. We received approximately 150 submissions, which is a lot more than the previous years. See you in September for the results. We might update this page as judging progresses.

  Added a parenthesis in the second paragraph of section 2.1, to avoid an ambiguity on empty ranges. Now the spec says what we meant: tags are properly nested. The precise description of the syntax is the BNF, which hasn't changed. Version 6 of the spec. (see also FAQ32).
